Missile Blaster

Missile Blaster was made in 72 hours for the first Extra Credits Game Jam with the theme of "Awesomeness per second". My interpretation of this theme was a game where every moment of the game felt awesome, every action the player performs should be packed with game juice. With that in mind, I set out to create the juiciest game I could.

The main gameplay loop was completed within 2 hours with most of the polish done already, thanks to its simplistic geometrical sprites and Photoshop's handy glow effect. The rest of the time was spent tweaking and balancing the game to give the player the most enjoyable euphoric experience and keeping in a state of flow. The final outcome is surprisingly aesthetically pleasing and fun play!

Missile Blaster is an endless action arcade shooter. Blast missiles with your powerful laser cannon. The more missiles you destroy, the higher your score. As you rack up your score, the tougher the game becomes.

Blast enough missiles without missing and you'll rack up a combo. Rewarding players for precision. Miss a shot, and your combo resets.

The game also comes with awesome powerups in the form of rainbow missiles!

Powerups:

Slowmo - Slows down time for 8 seconds.

Big Laser - Increases the width of your beam, which reduces your need for aim.

Supernova - Releases a supernova that doesn't reset your combo and multiplier.
